Lateral Violence Awareness
The Indigenous Lateral Violence Awareness workshop shares teachings on historical belief systems and how they have influenced the daily lives, behaviors, and interactions of people as a whole. Participants will learn how to build awareness, practice self-discipline, and use self-correction as key tools for maintaining professionalism and personal accountability.
This workshop includes spiritual teachings that help participants understand the effects of words, thoughts, and actions on themselves and others. Participants will explore how to self-correct, how to respond when others are being spoken about, and how to support healthier communication within families, workplaces, and communities.
Participants will be encouraged to look within themselves to recognize learned behaviors, understand how to speak about them in a respectful way, release what no longer serves them, and practice self-correction. Through hands-on teachings, group work, and guided reflection, the workshop creates an eye-opening experience that strengthens self-awareness and personal growth.
The workshop teaches self-accountability, self-correction, and practical ways to speak up when lateral violence occurs. Participants will learn how to stop participating in harmful behaviors, respond with maturity, and handle difficult situations in a professional, respectful, and solution-based manner.
